4 Ropin Ranch 2008 NFTR Horse Sale Results

4Ropin Ranch Inc. held their 3rd annual Team Roping Horse Sale October 30th, 2008 during the USTRC National Finals in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A very large crowd was in attendance for the sale as well as for the demonstration of sale horses which was held the evening preceding the sale. In the main coliseum all 42 geldings demonstrated their roping abilities for over two and a half hours. At the reins were 4Ropin Ranch’s head trainer Shawn Holden, as well as assistant trainer Justin Morris, NFR qualifiers Mike White, Shannon Frasch, Andy Anaya as well as Dusty Drake, Kent Thiessen, Darrel Radaci, Santiago De La Cruz, and Cody Doesher. DV Auctions broadcast the preview and sale live via the internet and featured online bidding. Team ropers once again proved that neither the economy nor the upcoming election would interfere with their opportunity to purchase a new mount. The crowd favorite, hip #29 "Poco Bentley Roadster" proved to be the high selling horse. The pretty 2003 foundation bred buckskin gelding that roped both ends as well as being a top of line ranch horse sold for $30,000 over the phone to an excited buyer in Wyoming. They were presented with a beautiful custom bridle courtesy of Classic Equine and Martin Saddlery. Hip #9 "Sparka Whip Wrangler" a beautiful 2003 palomino gelding who is by a son of the legendary "Shinning Spark" sold as the 2nd high seller for $25,000. Other top sellers were hip #16 "Two Square Valentine" a 1998 red roan gelding who sold for $25,000, hip #18 "Slick Lil Rick" a 2001 son of Smart Lil Ricochet who sold to Texas for $20,000, and hip #8 "Mr Jack 979" a 1999 own son of Tanquery Gin who also carried a last bid of $20,000. The top five selling rope horses averaged $24,000 with a sale average on all 42 head of $12,475. The horses once again sold from Hawaii to Connecticut and everywhere in between.
